Kathu Clinic accepts direct billing through Thai compulsory motor insurance (Por Ror Bor) and health/accident insurance plans in our network — so eligible patients pay nothing upfront, subject to each policy’s conditions.
Had a Road Accident? Por Ror Bor Covers You
What is Por Ror Bor (พ.ร.บ.)? It is Thailand’s compulsory motor insurance, attached to every legally registered vehicle — including rented motorbikes and cars. If you are injured in a road accident in Thailand, whether as a driver, passenger, or pedestrian, the vehicle’s Por Ror Bor covers your initial medical costs regardless of who was at fault. Many visitors don’t know this — it applies to your rental motorbike too.
Documents to bring
- Your ID card or passport
- A copy of the vehicle’s Por Ror Bor policy (ask the rental shop or vehicle owner)
- A copy of the vehicle registration
- Police daily report, if one was made
Coverage limit
Por Ror Bor pays actual medical costs up to 30,000 THB as initial coverage, with no need to prove fault first. If treatment costs exceed this limit, our team will let you know in advance and advise you on other options, such as your health or travel insurance.
Health & Accident Insurance
Kathu Clinic offers direct billing (no upfront payment) for all health and accident insurance plans in the Blueventure TPA network. Not sure whether your policy is in the network? Call us or send your insurance card details before your visit and we will check for you.

Travel Insurance
For travel insurance holders, some insurers allow direct billing with the clinic (no upfront payment), while others work on a pay-and-claim basis: you pay for your treatment and claim reimbursement from your insurer afterwards.
For reimbursement claims, Kathu Clinic provides all documents you need in English: a medical certificate and an itemized receipt. We recommend sending us your policy details before your visit so we can check whether direct billing is possible for you.
